This project is directed at the underprivileged boys in the surrounding community. It offers the chance for approximately 15 to 20 young boys to go camping at no expense. The Clinton Jaycees provide all materials needed such as tents and food. They also provide the kids a chance to go fishing, paddle boating, canoeing, swimming, and hiking. The event begins on a Saturday morning and ends in the early afternoon on Sunday. The rain location is the Lyon's Train Depot.Hershey's Track & FieldWith a beautiful May Sunday afternoon, this is an event not to miss. The Clinton Department of Parks and Recreation and the Clinton Jaycees sponsors this event. Participants are of the ages from five through fourteen years. It’s a thrill to see them victorious in events of a 50-meter dash through the 1600 meter run. The efforts in the softball throws and the standing long jumps are nothing to stand in the way of. The potential of a state qualification is possible for the 9-14 year olds. This event typically attracts around 200 youths and as proud parents in the stands can attest, the smile on a child’s face as ribbons are received, is one of the best rewards of life. For past event information, go through our Event Archive. | Lyons Train Depot ManagementHome sweet home. The Lyons Train Depot is located one block north of Main Avenue in the north-end of Clinton Iowa (formally Lyons) at 56 25th Avenue North. Working with the City of Clinton and the Lyons Business and Professional Association (LBPA), we renovated this building in order to become a permanent meeting place. The depot is used by many local non-profit organizations.Symphony of LightsThe Symphony of Lights was brought to the Clinton, Iowa in November 1996 by two non-profit organizations, Clinton Jaycee Foundation and Clinton Symphony Orchestra. These organizations founded the event as a fundraiser, but quickly learned it was much more. The Symphony of Lights brought a sense of pride to the community that had been lacking for a long time. It awakened volunteerism in all ages. Since its inception the numbers involved has grown tremendously, now reaching around 400 volunteers.
