Food Pantry Activities

The Jaycee national creed has the statement - "service to humanity is the best work of life".  The Clinton Jaycees live this through the many food pantry activities they hold each year.  The two food drives help replenish the panties that are used by so many needy families, and the holiday network helps provide a better holiday season for many.

Check the Clinton Jaycees Events Calendar for event dates and times.

Carnival Food Drive

at the carnival food drive.

Each year at the start of Independence Day Carnival the Clinton Jaycees hold an arm band night at the carnival.  For 2 non-perishable items and a set dollar amount persons receive a arm band which entitles them to all the rides they can take in that evening.  This food drive generally brings in enough food to fill 3 to 4 pickup trucks.  All items are donated to the Salvation Army and the Victory Center and then distributed to the other food shelves in the area.

Jaycee Week Food Drive

During the month of January the Jaycees celebrate National Jaycee week.  This week is to honor all Jaycees across the nation for their dedication to their communities.  The Clinton Jaycees feel it is important to continue that dedication by holding a food drive at several local grocery stores in the area.  This is held on the Saturday that ends the celebration of National Jaycee Week.

Holiday Network Food Baskets

Approximately a week before Christmas the Clinton Jaycees along with the Salvation Army put together food baskets and deliver them to several needy families.  These baskets include a Christmas ham, bread, milk, potatoes and a lot of other non-perishable items.  These baskets help bring some joy and happiness at the Christmas holiday.

Victory Center Dinners

Several times throughout the year, the Jaycees bring and serve dinner to people at the Victory Center.  This is just one more way that the Jaycees help out the less fortunate in our community.
